School Meals

School Meals at Malvin’s Close Academy

At Malvin’s Close Academy, we’re proud to run our own school kitchen. By preparing meals in-house, we have full control over the quality, variety and nutritional value of the food we serve. This also allows us to tailor our menus to meet the needs of our pupils and promote healthy choices every day.

Our commitment to healthy eating is reflected in everything we do from encouraging balanced diets to significantly reducing the use of processed foods in our menus. Most of the meals we serve are freshly made from scratch using seasonal ingredients and high-quality produce.

We work closely with trusted suppliers to ensure that everything we use is responsibly sourced, fully traceable and supplied from regional farms. Our WISE Catering Manager and school cook take real pride in creating delicious, nutritious meals that children enjoy and look forward to.

Children in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 are entitled to a universal free school meal, regardless of whether they qualify for Free School Meals (FSM).

For pupils in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6, who are not eligible for FSM, a school lunch costs £2.40 per day.
